Ford PowerShift (DPS6) Automatic Transmission Specialists

Between 2011 and mid-2016, Ford sold the Focus, Fiesta and Ecosport vehicles fitted with a PowerShift dual-clutch 6 speed automatic transmission in Australia. We are talking about the petrol models, not the diesel models as they are an entirely different transmission which we don’t work on.

This transmission is known by it’s version/model name as the DPS6.

Models fitted with this transmission are listed below:

Fiesta WT or WZ 2010-2016 Petrol Engine models

Focus LW or LWII 2011-2015 Petrol Engine models

Ecosport BK 2013-2016 Petrol Engine models

Isn’t there a Ford extended warranty on these transmissions?

Ford Australia did extend the warranty of 2 components only, not the whole transmission.

Let us explain:

Extended warranty 14M01 – Clutch only. under this extension Ford Australia extended the clutch warranty as follows:

Focus 2011- Mid 2013: 7 years or 160,000km from the new car warranty start date.

Focus Mid 2013- Late 2015: 5 years or 100,000km from the new car warranty start date.

Fiesta 2010- Mid 2013: 7 years or 160,000km from the new car warranty start date.

Fiesta Mid 2013- 2016: 5 years or 100,000km from the new car warranty start date.

Ecosport 2013- 2016: 5 years or 100,000km from the new car warranty start date.

Extended warranty 14M02 – Transmission Control Module only – known as the TCM. under this extension Ford Australia extended the TCM warranty as follows:

Focus, Fiesta and Ecosport – all model years: 10 years or 240,000km from the new car warranty start date.
